Description

endo-BCN-PEG8-PFP ester is a click chemistry active ester. PFP is a functional group containing a phenyl ring substituted with five fluorine atoms. PFP esters are commonly used reagents in bioconjugation chemistry. They contain a pentafluorophenyl ester functional group that can react with primary amines on biomolecules to form stable amide bonds. PEG is a synthetic, biocompatible polymer composed of repeating ethylene glycol units. It is widely used in biomedical applications due to its hydrophilic nature, low toxicity, and resistance to protein adsorption. PEG can improve the solubility, biocompatibility, and pharmacokinetic properties of molecules to which it is attached. Endo-BCN is a strained alkyne derivative with a bicyclic structure. It is known for its high reactivity in bioorthogonal chemistry, particularly in reactions with tetrazines. Endo-BCN can selectively and rapidly react with tetrazines to form stable covalent bonds via a Diels-Alder reaction. This compound can be used in bioorthogonal chemistry for site-specific labeling of biomolecules, drug delivery systems, surface modification, or other chemical biology applications.
