Description

Ethynylpyridine Tetraphenylethylene (Ethynylpyridine-modified TPE) is a hybrid compound combining the structural features of tetraphenylethylene (TPE) with an ethynylpyridine moiety. TPE consists of an ethylene bridge connected to four phenyl groups. This structure results in a highly conjugated system that can exhibit strong fluorescence and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties. The ethynyl group contributes to the compound’s reactivity and potential for further chemical modification. The extended conjugation from TPE, combined with the electron-donating effects of ethynylpyridine, can enhance the electronic properties of the material, making it useful in organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) and other semiconductor applications. In addition, the modification with ethynylpyridine can allow for the creation of nanomaterials with tailored optical properties. This includes the formation of nanoparticles or nanosheets with enhanced fluorescence and potential applications in imaging or sensors.
