Description

FITC-PEG-MAL (Fluorescein-PEG-Maleimide, FITC-PEG-Maleimde) is a heterobifunctional PEG polymer containing a fluorescent probe (green) for labeling. The maleimide moiety can react with thio molecule via condensation reaction under pH 6.5-7.5 to generate a thiosuccinimide molecule. The polymer is reactive thiol or cysteine molecule to form a stable thioether bond. FITC-PEG-Mal is used to attach the FITC fluorescent label to thiol-containing molecules, such as cysteine-modified proteins, peptides, or small molecules.
