Description

Fluorescent (NBD lipid (headgroup)) Immunoliposomes-Biotinyl Cap (Non-PEGylated), Lyophilized Powder are useful for studying cellular uptake, biodistribution, and tissue targeting in experimental models. The NBD headgroup provides a strong fluorescent signal that can be tracked using in vivo imaging techniques such as fluorescence microscopy or live animal imaging. The non-PEGylated surface of the liposomes can result in a more rapid clearance from the bloodstream, allowing researchers to observe the fast kinetics of liposome behavior within minutes to hours after administration. For drug delivery to the central nervous system (CNS), immunoliposomes can be designed to target specific receptors on the blood-brain barrier (BBB) or neuronal cells. The biotinylated cap can facilitate the addition of molecules that enhance BBB crossing, while the NBD fluorescence can be used to monitor the liposome’s ability to traverse the BBB and reach the brain.
