Description

Fmoc-Cys(Trt) Wang resin (N-Fmoc-S-trityl-L-cysteine-Wang resin) is useful for synthesizing peptides that require the incorporation of cysteine and may later undergo oxidation to form disulfide bonds, as well as for peptides needing functionalization at the thiol group after synthesis. Fmoc (Fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl) is a protecting group commonly used in SPPS to protect the amine group of amino acids during the synthesis process. Cys (Cysteine) is important for forming disulfide bonds in proteins and contributes to the stability and function of peptides. The Trt group protects the thiol (-SH) group of cysteine, preventing premature reaction during peptide synthesis. The Trt group can be removed under mild acidic conditions.
