Description

Fmoc-D-Arg(Pbf)-Wang PEG-Polystyrene Resin is a modified solid-phase synthesis resin designed for peptide synthesis. Fmoc protects the amine group of the amino acid to prevent unwanted side reactions during the elongation of the peptide chain. The Fmoc group can be easily removed under basic conditions (e.g., with piperidine) to reveal a free amine group for the next coupling reaction. D-Arginine is the D-enantiomer of the amino acid arginine. The D-configuration of amino acids is often used in peptide synthesis for structural studies, to simulate certain biological functions, or to study peptide stability and bioactivity. The Pbf group is stable to the basic conditions required to remove the Fmoc group, but it can be removed under mildly acidic conditions (usually with TFA or another acid in the cleavage step) to reveal the free guanidino group. Polystyrene resin is an essential material for a wide range of uses in research, diagnostics, medical devices, and multiple industial applications from packaging to construction.
