Fmoc-D-Orn(Boc)-Wang PEG-Polystyrene Resin is suitable for complex peptides that require precise stereochemistry, such as those with D-Ornithine residues or peptides that are more hydrophilic, improving the overall synthesis efficiency and quality of the final product. Fmoc is favored over other protecting groups like the Boc group in SPPS because it avoids the use of harsh acids for deprotection (such as TFA, used for Boc removal), making Fmoc a cleaner choice for synthesizing long peptides. D-Ornithine is stereochemically opposite to the naturally occurring L-Ornithine, and its inclusion in peptide sequences can impart unique properties such as altered binding affinities or the ability to form specific conformations. The Boc group is used to protect the amino group of the amino acid (here, Ornithine) during peptide synthesis. It is stable under basic conditions but can be removed under acidic conditions.
