Fmoc-Lys(Boc) Low Crosslinked Polystyrene-PEG S RAM Resin (Fmoc-Lys(Boc) Low Crosslinked Polystyrene-PEG S Rink Amide Linker Resin) is designed to be flexible in accommodating various peptide synthesis strategies, especially when lysine is involved, which is often modified in functional peptides, especially in post-translational modifications or conjugations. The lysine side-chain amine group is protected with a Boc (tert-butoxycarbonyl) group, which is stable under basic conditions but can be cleaved under acidic conditions. The Boc protection prevents unwanted reactions involving the lysine side chain during peptide synthesis. Boc deprotection typically occurs under acidic conditions, such as in TFA (trifluoroacetic acid), revealing the free amine group for further modification or coupling.
