Fmoc-Ser(tBu)-Chlorotrityl PEG-Polystyrene Resin is useful for applications in drug discovery, chemical biology, and biotechnology, where post-translational modifications of serine are essential. Serine phosphorylation is a key post-translational modification in many signaling pathways. The ability to synthesize peptides with serine protected by tBu allows for easy phosphorylation of serine at a later stage. After peptide synthesis is complete, the tBu group can be removed, and the serine hydroxyl group can be chemically phosphorylated using phosphorylation reagents or other methods. Polystyrene resin is an essential material for a wide range of uses in research, diagnostics, medical devices, and multiple industial applications from packaging to construction.
