Description

G(iBu) Polystyrene Resin is used as a support matrix for solid-phase synthesis, where the desired molecule (e.g., a peptide or other organic structure) is built stepwise on the resin, and the G(iBu) group can be used to introduce specific chemical properties that aid in the synthesis or purification process. The core of the resin is made of polystyrene, a widely used synthetic polymer, usually cross-linked with divinylbenzene (DVB) to form an insoluble but porous matrix. This provides the resin with both structural integrity and compatibility with solvents commonly used in organic synthesis.
