H-His(Trt)-2-Chlorotrityl Polystyrene Resin is ideal for the design of peptides that need to coordinate metal ions for specific biological or chemical functions. Histidine’s imidazole side chain can coordinate with metal ions, making it useful in the development of peptides designed for applications in metal ion detection, biocatalysis, or as part of metalloproteins. In addition, histidine residues are often included in peptide-based drug delivery systems due to their pH sensitivity and ability to interact with both the drug and cellular targets. Peptides synthesized using this resin can be designed to selectively bind to pH-sensitive drug carriers or other delivery systems, such as liposomes, where histidine residues help to trigger drug release in acidic environments, such as in tumor tissues.
