m-PEG-methyltetrazine refers to a compound consisting of a polyethylene glycol (PEG) linker attached to a methyltetrazine moiety. Methyltetrazine is a heterocyclic compound containing a five-membered ring with four nitrogen atoms and one carbon atom. Tetrazine-based compounds are highly reactive towards strained alkenes, such as trans-cyclooctenes or norbornenes, in a bioorthogonal reaction known as the inverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) reaction.
