Description

MAL-PEG-HZ (Maleimide-PEG-Hydrazide) can be used to label proteins or peptides containing thiol groups. The maleimide group selectively reacts with thiol groups, forming stable covalent bonds. The hydrazide group can react with aldehydes or ketones, forming hydrazone linkages. This property can be utilized for site-specific conjugation to biomolecules that have been modified with aldehyde groups.
