Description

MAL-PEG-MTA (Maleimide-PEG-Myristic Acid) is a compound composed of three main components: a maleimide group, a polyethylene glycol (PEG) linker, and myristic acid. Maleimide is a reactive group that selectively reacts with thiol groups through a thio-Michael addition reaction. This reactivity is commonly used in bioconjugation to link maleimide-functionalized molecules to thiol-containing biomolecules. Myristic acid is a saturated fatty acid with a 14-carbon chain. It has a hydrophobic tail and a carboxylic acid functional group.
