Description

MAL-PEG-NH2 (Maleimide-PEG-Amine, MAL-PEG-Amine) is a PEG linker containing a maleimide group and an amine group. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media. The amine group is reactive with carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters, carbonyls (ketone, aldehyde) etc. The maleimide group will react with a thiol group to form a covalent bond, enabling the connection of biomolecule with a thiol. By reacting MAL-PEG-NH2 with proteins containing primary amines, researchers can introduce modifications or labels, offering versatility for applications such as imaging or diagnostics.
