MAL-PEG-SCM (Maleimide-PEG-Succinimidyl Carboxymethyl Ester) is a PEG conjugate with a maleimide group and a succinimidyl carboxymethyl ester group. Maleimide is a reactive group that selectively reacts with thiol groups through a thio-Michael addition reaction. This reaction is commonly used in bioconjugation to link maleimide-functionalized molecules to thiol-containing biomolecules. SCM forms stable amide bonds between the compound and primary amine-containing molecules.
