Description

Methyltetrazine-PEG1-DBCO is a compound composed of three components: methyltetrazine, a polyethylene glycol (PEG) linker, and dibenzocyclooctyne (DBCO). Methyltetrazine is a heterocyclic compound containing a five-membered ring with four nitrogen atoms and one carbon atom. It is known for its highly reactive nature towards strained alkenes, such as the cyclooctynes in the DBCO moiety. Methyltetrazine forms a covalent bond with the strained alkene via a rapid and bioorthogonal reaction known as the inverse electron-demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) reaction. DBCO is commonly used as a chemical handle for site-specific labeling, conjugation, and bioconjugation reactions.
