Description

Methyltetrazine-PEG2-DBCO is a chemical compound containing methyltetrazine, PEG spacer and DBCO group. Methyltetrazine is a molecule containing a tetrazine functional group with a methyl substituent. Tetrazines are highly reactive compounds that undergo rapid and selective reactions with strained alkenes, such as trans-cyclooctene (TCO), via the bioorthogonal inverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) cycloaddition reaction. PEGs are hydrophilic polymers known for their biocompatibility and ability to improve the solubility and pharmacokinetic properties of biomolecules. DBCO is a strained cyclooctyne ring, as mentioned earlier, commonly used in bioconjugation chemistry. It reacts with tetrazine groups via the inverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder reaction, forming stable triazole linkages.
