Methyltetrazine-PEG3-Iodoacetamido is a versatile tool for bioconjugation, labeling, and drug delivery applications, enabling selective and efficient modification of biomolecules for research, diagnostic, and therapeutic purposes. Methyltetrazine is a heterocyclic compound containing a five-membered ring with four nitrogen atoms and one carbon atom. MTz is widely used in bioorthogonal chemistry due to its fast and selective reactivity with trans-cyclooctene (TCO) or norbornene derivatives in a process called inverse electron-demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) cycloaddition. Iodoacetamido groups are commonly used in bioconjugation reactions to selectively react with sulfhydryl (-SH) groups of cysteine residues in proteins or peptides, forming stable thioether bonds. This allows for site-specific labeling or modification of biomolecules with high efficiency and specificity.
