Description

mPEG-Alkyne is a specialized chemical compound used in the context of click chemistry, particularly in the copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction. Polyethylene Glycol chain (PEG) is a hydrophilic polymer chain made up of repeating ethylene glycol units. PEG is known for its biocompatibility and ability to improve the solubility of attached molecules in aqueous environments. The terminal alkyne (–C≡C–) is a triple-bonded carbon structure at the end of the PEG chain. The alkyne group is highly reactive in click chemistry and allows for the formation of a triazole ring when it reacts with an azide group.
