Description

N-(Amino-PEG4)-N-bis(PEG4-t-butyl ester) can be used as a building block in polymer synthesis to introduce PEG chains with different end functionalities. The tert-butyl ester groups can facilitate polymerization reactions or cross-linking processes, providing control over the properties and functions of the resulting polymers. Additionally, the amino-terminated PEG chain can be utilized for conjugating drugs or targeting ligands via amine-reactive chemistry. The presence of the tert-butyl ester groups on the other PEG chains can protect them during synthesis and formulation. These groups can be selectively removed under mild conditions (e.g., acidic or basic hydrolysis) to expose amino groups, enabling further functionalization or conjugation with bioactive molecules.
