N-Benzyloxycarbonyl (+)-Anatoxin A ((1R,6R)-Benzyl 2-Acetyl-9-azabicyclo[4.2.1]non-2-ene-9-carboxylate) is a modified form of (+)-Anatoxin A, a potent neurotoxin. The addition of the benzyloxycarbonyl (Cbz) group modifies the molecule’s properties, including its reactivity and solubility. (+)-Anatoxin A is a natural neurotoxin produced by certain cyanobacteria (blue-green algae). It is known for its potent effects on the nervous system, particularly as an agonist at nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. The N-benzyloxycarbonyl modification is used to alter the compound’s chemical properties for research purposes.
