Description

N-Boc-6-Biotinamidohexylamine can be conjugated to biomolecules containing carboxylic acid groups. The N-Boc protecting group temporarily masks the amino group of the hexylamine linker, allowing selective conjugation to carboxylate-modified molecules under mild coupling conditions. After conjugation, the N-Boc group can be removed to expose the free amino group for further functionalization or interaction with streptavidin or avidin. Biotin (vitamin B7) is a small molecule that binds strongly to avidin or streptavidin proteins with high specificity. The hexylamine linker provides sufficient length to facilitate bioconjugation reactions.
