Description

N-(Boc-PEG4)-N-bis(PEG4-propargyl) is a molecule used in organic synthesis and chemical biology. The Boc protecting group is commonly used in organic synthesis to temporarily block reactive functional groups, such as amines, to prevent undesired reactions. It can be removed under specific conditions to reveal the amino group for further reactions. The polyethylene glycol (PEG) chains act as spacers or linkers, providing flexibility and solubility to the molecule. They also aid in controlling the distance between the functional groups. The propargyl groups contain a terminal alkyne functional group (C≡C-H), which is useful for copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reactions, also known as click chemistry.
