Description

N-Isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) is a monomer used in the synthesis of various polymers, most notably poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM). It can be incorporated into hydrogels used in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The temperature responsiveness can be leveraged to encapsulate cells, allowing for their controlled release and integration into host tissues. This polymer can also be used to create drug-loaded nanoparticles or hydrogels that release drugs in response to changes in temperature, such as those found in the human body.
