Description

N3-Ethylthymidine (N3-Et-dT) is a modified thymidine analog, where an ethyl group and an azide group (-N₃) are introduced into the thymidine structure. This modification enhances its functionality, particularly in nucleic acid chemistry and bioorthogonal reactions. N3-Et-dT could be used in the development of DNA vaccines, where the click chemistry functionality allows for precise modification of the vaccine construct, improving immunogenicity and stability. It can also be used to study the spatial and temporal dynamics of DNA in different cellular compartments, which is useful for investigating cell cycle progression, DNA damage response, or the effects of external stressors on DNA.
