Description

N3-PEG-LA (Azide-PEG-Lipoic acid) can be conjugated with drug molecules or nanoparticles to create targeted drug delivery systems. The PEG spacer improves solubility and circulation time, while the lipoic acid can enhance cellular uptake via interactions with cellular membranes. In addition, the lipoic acid can facilitate the controlled release of drugs by forming disulfide linkages that can be cleaved in reducing environments typical of the intracellular milieu.
