Description

N3-PEG-NHS (Azide-PEG-NHS) can be used to develop drug conjugates by attaching drugs to proteins, peptides, or other targeting molecules via click chemistry. The PEG chain improves the pharmacokinetic properties of the drug, such as solubility and half-life. Besides, the NHS ester reacts readily with primary amines found in lysine residues of proteins or peptides, forming a stable amide bond. This is useful for attaching PEG to proteins or peptides to increase their solubility, stability, and biocompatibility, often referred to as PEGylation.
