N3-PLP (Azide-Pyridoxal phosphate) is a derivative of pyridoxal phosphate (PLP), which is the active form of vitamin B6. Pyridoxal Phosphate (PLP) is a coenzyme involved in many enzymatic reactions, particularly in amino acid metabolism. It contains an aldehyde group that forms a Schiff base with the amino group of substrates. N3-PLP can be used to design enzyme probes or inhibitors. The azide group allows for the attachment of reporter molecules or inhibitors through click chemistry, making it a valuable tool for studying PLP-dependent enzymes. N3-PLP can also be conjugated with proteins, peptides, or other biomolecules.
