Naphthalene-2,6-Dicarbonitrile (2,​6-​Naphthalenedicarboni​trile) is derived from naphthalene, a bicyclic aromatic hydrocarbon. It contains two cyano groups (-CN) attached to carbon atoms 2 and 6 of the naphthalene ring system. Certain derivatives of naphthalene-2,6-dicarbonitrile have been investigated for their liquid crystalline properties.
