NDI-Tz (NDI-tetrazine / Naphthalenediimide-tetrazine) combines the electronic and chemical properties of both naphthalenediimide and tetrazine. Naphthalenediimide is a well-known electron-accepting unit used in organic semiconductors and electronic materials. NDI-Tz can be used in organic electronic devices such as organic solar cells, organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), and field-effect transistors (OFETs). The combination of NDI’s electron-accepting properties with tetrazine’s reactivity may enhance the performance of these devices. Due to its electronic structure, NDI-Tz can also find applications in photonic devices, where its unique electronic and optical properties can be harnessed for light-emitting, light-harvesting, or light-detection technologies.
