Description

Neutral Fluoroliposome-DiA-Azide, Lyophilized Powder combines the advantages of fluorescent tracking and functionalized drug delivery using bioorthogonal chemistry. DiA (3,3′-dioctadecyloxacarbocyanine perchlorate) is a lipophilic fluorescent dye that is often used for membrane labeling due to its ability to insert into the lipid bilayer and emit fluorescence upon excitation. The fluorescence emission spectrum of DiA is generally in the green to yellow range, depending on the solvent environment. The azide provides a highly reactive group that can undergo click chemistry reactions, specifically the azide-alkyne cycloaddition. This allows for bioorthogonal conjugation to other molecules, such as targeting ligands, peptides, or therapeutic agents, without interfering with the liposome’s fluorescence properties.
