Description

NH2-PEG-COOH (Amine-PEG-COOH, Amino-PEG-Acid, Amine-PEG-carboxylic acid) is a linear heterobifunctional PEG reagent with one amine and one carboxyl. It is a useful crosslinking reagent with a PEG spacer. The amine functional group consists of a nitrogen atom bonded to two hydrogen atoms. Amines are chemically reactive and can participate in various chemical reactions, including amidation and Schiff base formation. The carboxyl group (-COOH) is a functional group consisting of a carbonyl group (C=O) and a hydroxyl group (OH) bonded to the same carbon atom. Carboxyl groups are also chemically reactive and can participate in various bioconjugation reactions, such as amidation or esterification, to form covalent bonds with other molecules.
