NH2-PEG-DBCO (Amine-PEG-DBCO, Amine-PEG-Dibenzocycolctyne) is a reagent for the PEGylation the azide-containing biomolecules via Copper-free click reaction. The amine functional group (-NH2) consists of a nitrogen atom bonded to two hydrogen atoms. Amines are chemically reactive and can participate in various bioconjugation reactions, including amidation or Schiff base formation. DBCO is a bioorthogonal functional group that is widely used in click chemistry reactions, specifically in the copper-free strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) reaction. DBCO can react rapidly and selectively with azide (-N3) groups, forming a stable covalent linkage called a triazole.
