NH2-PEG-OH (Amine-PEG-Hydroxyl, HO-PEG-NH2, HO-PEG-Amine) is a heterobifunctional PEG. Often used as a cross-linking agent or as a spacer between two different chemical entities. The amine functional group contains a nitrogen atom bonded to two hydrogen atoms. Amines are chemically reactive and can participate in various chemical reactions, including amidation and Schiff base formation. The hydroxyl group (-OH) is a functional group containing an oxygen atom bonded to a hydrogen atom. Hydroxyl groups are also chemically reactive and can engage in various chemical reactions, such as esterification or ether formation, to form covalent bonds with other molecules.
