Description

NHS Activated Dextran (Dextran-NHS) is a chemical reactive dextran product that can react with primary amine groups under alkaline pH. NHS reacts rapidly with primary amine group at pH 8-10 to form a stable amide bond. NHS activated dextran can thus react rapidly with proteins, peptides or small molecules. Dextrans are naturally synthesized polysaccharides with good water solubility, low toxicity and varied molecular weights. Dextrans modified with dyes and other biomolecules have been successfully used as long-term tracers for live cells.
