Description

NHS-dPEG®4-biotin is used to biotinylate biomolecules containing primary amines. The NHS ester reacts with primary amines to form stable amide bonds, attaching biotin via the dPEG®₄ spacer. This modification allows for specific detection, purification, or immobilization of biotinylated biomolecules using streptavidin or avidin-based methods. NHS is a chemical group that contains an NHS ester (-NHS), which is reactive towards primary amines (-NH₂) on biomolecules. NHS esters are commonly used for amine-specific labeling and bioconjugation reactions.
