Description

PDLLA-PEG-N3 (Poly(D,L-lactide)-b-poly(ethylene glycol)-azide) is designed to combine the desirable properties of both PDLLA and PEG polymers while also providing a chemical handle (the azide group) for further functionalization. Poly(D,L-lactic acid) is a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer derived from lactic acid. It can be synthesized into various forms, including fibers, films, and nanoparticles. Polyethylene glycol is a hydrophilic polymer that is often used in biomedical applications to improve the solubility, stability, and biocompatibility of materials. The azide functional group (-N3) is a small, reactive group containing three nitrogen atoms. Azides are commonly used in bioconjugation chemistry, particularly in click chemistry reactions such as copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC).
