Description

PDLLA-PEG-N3 (Poly(D,L-lactide)-b-poly(ethylene glycol)-azide) refers to a copolymer composed of poly(D,L-lactic acid) (PDLLA) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) with an azide functional group (-N3) at one end. PDLLA has been widely investigated for biomedical applications such as drug delivery, tissue engineering, and medical devices due to its favorable properties, including tunable degradation rates and excellent biocompatibility. PEG can prevent nonspecific protein adsorption, reduce immunogenicity, and prolong the circulation time of nanoparticles or drugs in the body. It is frequently used as a coating or a component in drug delivery systems and biomaterials. Azide-functionalized molecules can selectively react with alkynes or other functional groups containing terminal acetylenes under mild conditions to form covalent bonds, allowing for the attachment of various biomolecules, drugs, or imaging agents.
