PDLLA-PEG-NH2 (Poly(D,L-lactide)-block-poly(ethylene glycol)-Amine) can be utilized for the delivery of nucleic acids, such as plasmid DNA or small interfering RNA (siRNA), for gene therapy applications. The copolymers can condense nucleic acids into nanoparticles, protect them from degradation, and facilitate their cellular uptake. The amino group can be used for surface modification or conjugation with targeting ligands to enhance gene delivery efficiency and specificity.
