PDLLA-PEG-PDLLA (Poly(D,L-lactide)-block-poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(D,L-lactide)) is extensively used as drug delivery carriers. The hydrophobic PLA segments can encapsulate hydrophobic drugs, providing controlled release over an extended period. The hydrophilic PEG segments can improve the circulation time of drug-loaded nanoparticles by reducing opsonization and clearance by the immune system.
