PLGA-PEG-N3 (PLGA-PEG-Azide, Poly(L-lactide-co-glycolide)-b-Poly(ethylene glycol)-Azide) is a triblock copolymer where the PLGA and PEG are linked together, and the PEG end is functionalized with an azide group. Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) is a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer commonly used in medical applications, including drug delivery systems and tissue engineering. PLGA is made up of lactic acid and glycolic acid monomers, which can degrade in the body into non-toxic byproducts that are metabolized and eliminated. Azide (N3) is a functional group that is reactive in click chemistry, particularly in the copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction. The azide group allows for further functionalization of the polymer with various molecules, such as drugs, targeting ligands, or imaging agents.
