Description

PLGA-SS-PEG-Biotin can be formulated into nanoparticles for enhanced drug delivery. Nanoparticles protect encapsulated drugs from degradation, prolong circulation time, and facilitate specific targeting to diseased tissues or cells expressing biotin receptors. This compound can also be used in cancer therapy for targeted drug delivery to tumor cells. Biotin facilitates specific binding to biotin receptors overexpressed on cancer cells, allowing for localized and enhanced delivery of chemotherapeutic agents. The disulfide linker enables triggered release of drugs in the reducing environment of tumor cells, improving therapeutic efficacy while minimizing systemic toxicity.
