Description

PLGA-SS-PEG-Biotin can be loaded with antibacterial agents for targeted delivery to bacterial infections. The biotin tag allows for specific binding to biotin receptors present on bacterial cell surfaces, promoting efficient uptake of antibacterial agents. The disulfide bond can release antibacterial agents inside bacteria, enhancing antimicrobial activity. Moreover, it can be formulated for ophthalmic drug delivery applications. Biotin facilitates specific targeting to ocular tissues expressing biotin receptors, improving drug retention and efficacy. The disulfide bond can enable controlled release of drugs within the eye, prolonging therapeutic effect and reducing administration frequency.
