POEGMA-co-PPgMA (Poly(oligo(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate)-co-Poly(propylene glycol methacrylate)) refers to a copolymer consisting of poly(oligoethylene glycol) methacrylate (POEGMA) and poly(propylene glycol) methacrylate (PPgMA). POEGMA is derived from the methacrylate ester of oligoethylene glycol. The oligoethylene glycol units provide hydrophilicity to the polymer. PPgMA is derived from the methacrylate ester of propylene glycol. The propylene glycol units impart hydrophobic properties to the polymer. The hydrophilic-hydrophobic balance makes POEGMA-co-PPgMA suitable for biomedical applications, such as drug delivery systems and tissue engineering. The polymer can be used to create nanoparticles or hydrogels with controlled release properties. This copolymer is also used in surface coatings where specific surface properties are needed. For example, it can be used to create self-cleaning surfaces or coatings with controlled wetting properties.
