Description

Poly(D,L-lysine hydrobromide) (PDLL HBr) is a synthetic polymer composed of repeating units of both D-lysine and L-lysine that are linked together. The “D” and “L” refer to the stereochemistry of the lysine molecules, indicating that both enantiomers (mirror-image forms) of lysine are present in the polymer. This polymer is positively charged due to the amino groups in both the D-lysine and L-lysine monomers. This positive charge is useful for promoting cell adhesion and attachment in cell culture experiments.
