Description

Poly(ethylene glycol) or Poly(ethylene oxide), α,ω-bis(hydroxy)-terminated has a linear polymer structure consisting of repeating ethylene oxide units (CH2-CH2-O). The two terminal groups at both ends of the polymer chain are hydroxyl (-OH) groups. These polymers are widely used as biocompatible coatings for medical devices, such as catheters, stents, and implants. The hydrophilic nature of PEG/PEO helps prevent nonspecific protein adsorption and minimizes immune responses.
