Poly(L-Homoarginine Hydrochloride) (PLH HCl) is a polycationic polymer derived from the amino acid L-homoarginine. It is a homologue of L-arginine and shares structural similarities with it. It is positively charged due to the presence of amino groups in its structure. The cationic nature of poly(L-homoarginine hydrochloride) makes it water-soluble and allows it to interact favorably with negatively charged biological molecules, such as nucleic acids (DNA, RNA) and certain proteins. This property is often exploited in applications related to gene delivery and cell-penetrating peptides.
