Poly(L-lysine hydrobromide) Biotin (BT-PLL, PLL-Biotin, PLL HBr-BT) can serve as scaffolds or surfaces for the immobilization of streptavidin or avidin, which can subsequently bind biotinylated molecules. This binding interaction is highly specific and widely used in biotechnology for applications like enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) and protein purification. In addition, biotinylated polymers can be used for cell labeling and tracking in cell biology and fluorescence microscopy experiments. Biotinylated antibodies or streptavidin-conjugated fluorophores can be used to target and visualize biotin-labeled cells.
