Description

Poly(N-vinyl imidazole) is a synthetic polymer formed by the polymerization of N-vinyl imidazole monomers. The repeating unit in the polymer chain consists of the imidazole ring along with the vinyl group, giving it a linear, chain-like structure. PVI’s ion-exchange properties make it useful in separation processes, such as chromatography or ion-exchange chromatography, where it can selectively bind or separate ions or molecules based on their charge.
